Integrating AI to Strengthen Clinical Critical Thinking and Decision-Making in Graduate Sexual and Reproductive Health Education
Project Overview
In this initiative, I will use NotebookLM to help students develop effective study methods that promote self-directed learning and long-term retention as they prepare for national certification exams after graduation. By establishing their learning materials within a familiar AI environment, students will be able to generate summaries, identify conceptual relationships, and quiz themselves on key clinical topics. This will be helpful as this is the first clinical didactic course they take in their Doctor of Nursing Practice program which means they can use these skills in all their future courses. Complementing the use of NotebookLM, Gemini or Gemini Gems will be used to build clinical scenarios that require students to synthesize unfolding cases and apply reasoning processes to patient management and decision-making. Together, these tools will serve as an interactive platform that challenges students to question assumptions, evaluate the quality of information, and justify their clinical judgments.
