Motivation: Fostering students’ motivation to learn (Nov 30, 2017)

Session Description

When you say “I want my student to be [more] motivated” in the context of your courses, what do you have in mind as the roles, skills, and responsibilities required of learners who are motivated?  What do you imagine are our roles, skills, and responsibilities as teachers with regard to fostering and supporting learner motivation? In this workshop, we’ll address 3 core concepts associated with motivation – learning goals have value, success seems possible, and course environments support learning , and offer specific teaching and learning strategies linked to fostering student motivation.
